New Idea, or Been Done Before?
So I was thinking about this blog and what I would like to do with it. Particularly, how can I incorporate video in a relevant fashion. This train of thought started at the realization that video is the future of product photography, and therefore I need to gain experience in this medium in order to remain relevant in my field. As it is with still photography, the best way to learn to image something with video is to play and have fun with it. My problem was that I love still photography and haven't wanted to jump off and start making complicated videos. My photography is generally simple and clean, relying on composition & color to provide interest. In my mind this didn't translate well into video. I like composing my work to rely on these basic elements, which lead me to ask myself; What is a basic element video offers that stills don't? The answer is of course; movement. So now I have this awesome idea in my head about how I can have very short videos that have the look and feel of a still photograph, but with a single element of movement. The first subject idea I had was a close up of a vintage doorknob (something I could see myself shooting anyway). The frame is completely still for 2 or 3 seconds, and then the knob starts turning. That is it, nothing else. What do you think?

A little bit of me.

If you read this blog with any regularity you will see technology come up fairly often. As a tech geek I am a huge fan of Google. I have been using their search engine since it showed up in an Alta Vista search :). I have their mobile OS on my phone, and I use their products more and more all the time, the latest of which is this blog site. As long as they continue producing open source products that meet the wants and needs of consumers I don't see this changing. Another big name you will hear from me often is Amazon.com. Not only is this the greatest success story to come out of the dot com boom, but is the greatest company I have ever worked for. I apologize ahead of time for the occasions were there will be an ad for amazon listed on this site, but since I am a photographer for them and I was going to post links to anything cool I shot anyway, why not make a % if you choose to purchase the item?
Anyway, that is a little about me.
Please let me know if you experience any issues with my site :-)
